In this wonderful print, Mordechai combines 2 passages from Exodus…At the top we see a passage from Exodus 10:9 where Moses tells Pharaoh how the children of Israel will leave Egypt and worship God: “We will all go.. young and old” – and on the bottom we see the passage from Exodus 25:8, when God asks the Israelites to build Him a sanctuary (Mishkan) after leaving Egypt “V’asu li mikdash”. The combination of these two verses is a brilliant connection of the prophecy being declared and then fulfilled. This is another beautiful creation by Mordechai, coming to life through his masterful calligraphy – and filled with meaning.
