This imaginitive artwork is inspired by the verse from Numbers (Bamidbar) 13, when Caleb says “Let us go up” (to the land of Israel).  The Hebrew words are “Aleh, na’aleh”.. Mordechai creatively places the letter “nun” on the center line of the painting (to the right), showing the fine line between staying and going up.  Without the “nun”, both words spell “aleh” (Ayin, lamed, heh) – but with the “nun”, we rise up to the land of Israel.
