Recently Governor Josh Shapiro of Pennsylvania spoke these words from Pirkei Avot: “It is not your responsibility to finish the work, but neither are you free to desist from it.” In Hebrew: “Lo alecha ham’lacha ligmor, v’lo atah ben chorin l’hivatel mimena”. Essentially, it means that while you may not be able to fully complete a task on your own, you still have an obligation to contribute and not abandon it entirely.
